Neutron - Intelligence Policy Lab (N-IPL)
At N-IPL, we work with academic institutions, non-profits, governments, corporate partners and civil society organizations to develop cross-cutting intelligent solutions in policy space across global south countries.
Our work starts simply by understanding the complex problems pertaining to development across the global south countries. We use various data collection tools to gather data that helps us inform policy decisions.
Survey Projects
1. Climate Change and Youth Resilience
This survey explores how young people experience and respond to climate impacts such as floods, heatwaves, and droughts. It looks at how these shocks affect their education, livelihoods, health, and aspirations. The survey also examines young people’s awareness of climate policies and their own strategies for resilience.
2. Migration and Youth Mobility
This survey focuses on the drivers and consequences of youth migration, both internal (rural–urban) and international. It examines how young people make migration decisions, what opportunities or challenges they face, and how gender and class shape these experiences. Special attention is given to aspirations, risks, and the role of remittances in supporting families and communities.
3. Youth Employment and the Future of Work
This survey investigates the barriers young people face in securing decent and meaningful employment. It looks at access to skills, technology, and networks, as well as the rise of informal and gig work in the Global South. It also explores how gender norms shape career opportunities and how climate and migration pressures are reshaping the labor market for young people.
4. Public Services and Youth Access
This survey assesses how young people experience public services such as education, health care, housing, and transport. It examines the quality, accessibility, and affordability of these services, with attention to gendered differences. The survey also asks how youth perceive government accountability and whether services are preparing them for secure, sustainable futures.
5. Digital Content Consumption and AI
This survey on digital consumption and AI will help us look into how digital spaces are used by young people across the global south countries, and how this use impacts them emotionally, and psychologically. Whether, the rise in digital / AI technologies increase in their work capabilities or not. If not, is it because they don’t have the right skillset to make use of digital platforms and AI?
